june hits and misses part 2

i'm baaaaaack. ; ) nyehe..

grabe naman.. parang two full days nang ulan ng ulan. kawawa naman ang soiled clothes kow.. pano ko ba sila malalaban under this weather? ayoko naman gamitin ang dryer namin kse apart from the gasul that it uses to run, kuryente pa yon. wag na. di bali nalang. narealize ko bigla super thankful ako dun sa portable sampayan. what is that called anyway?

o sha.. kung anu-ano na sinasabi ko e. review na : )

MISS:

watsons exfoliating body scrub in cucumber melon

i have a thing for exfoliating body scrubs.. i dunno why but they always make me feel good after i use them. kaya madalas when i'm feeling under the weather, i would take a nice long bath. scrubbing away dirt like they are my issues. hehe.. i've tried a few body scrubs in the past and this.. well this isn't the best but for a hundred something, it's not too bad. plus i like the cucumber melon scent. i used to have a the bath and body works cucumber melon mist but i dunno.. i just stopped using it. i guess after a while i don't want to smell fruity na. besides, everybody else is using it na so.. pfftt.. hehe..

watsons exfoliating body scrub is not very creamy in texture. it is actually denser in comparison to the thick consistency of body scrubs like st. ives. maybe it doesn't do much exfoliating but it does leave your skin feeling soft. okay naman sya yun nga lang kung exfoliating lang din ang pag uusapan, you can do better with the st. ives body scrub. mas mahal sya pero worth it naman and maganda talaga sa skin. :D

ayon.. so i'm not impressed with the watsons exfoliating body scrub. peace ^^

HIT!

asian secrets lulur whitening body scrub
(suggested by mrs. yoshie reyes)

mami yo is probably one of the very people i know who likes to try out things. actually, when i was just starting it was mami yo who made me feel encouraged.. i guess moms has that effect on me. kahit na mejo ilang years lang naman ang age gap namin. lols. ayon. she was the one who suggested that i try out her then new discovery, asian secrets. and true enough.. super galing ng scrub na to. so thank you mami yo! :D

it has a thick consistency. white with beads for that exfoliating feel ; ) parang nakakakilig idescribe ah. lols. one thing also is that it smells like tommy girl. smells so good! :D the asian secret comes in 2 sizes. this is the bigger pot.. costs a little over 150 but not over 200. really really worth it. you can get it sa inyong suking watsons or even sa groceries. i bought mine sa robinsons super market.

ang difference nito with the other body scrubs na nakasanayan ko is.. you apply it on your skin BEFORE you take a bath. your skin has to be dry. not damp. dry. i have no idea why pero that's how you're supposed to use it. ayon.. so scrub it all over your body.. note: body. not face. so don't use it on your face kasi it might be too harsh.. malabot kse ang skin nten sa face, baka hindi nya magustuhan ang roughness ng texture nito. ayon..

it's really good too. after a few days of using it you'll notice that your skin will become smoother tapos your dark spots would lighten up.. it's really good.

so to end my raving for this product, i am going to quote madison: i really really love it! you gotta try it!"

there you go.. my june hits and misses. :D see ya!

june hits

naisip ko bigla, ang chuchal naman. may hits and misses pa kong nalalaman! lols. wala eh.. ganon talaga. ; ) nyahaha..

okay. so here are the products i've been loving.

kotex fresh pantiliners longer and wider

i wasn't really particular with the pantiliners i use like i am with napkins. but i do like them individually wrapped. wala din akong preferred the brand. because you know, pantiliners are cheap so feeling ko disposable sya. hehe.. ang nawiwish ko lang madalas, sana mahaba ng konti ang pantiliners. minsan kse it feels uneasy sa umm.. back part. kse i like placing my pantiliners more on the front. so last june when i went grocery shopping, i looked around more sa feminine hygiene section wishing na sana may nag eexist na long pantiliners. and voila! kotex has it and it's not just longer, it's also wider! made me so happy :D

it contains 16 individually wrapped pantiliners. they are divided by four and wrapped in a resealable plastic which i later learned to be purse packs. kotex of course is a more expensive brand compared to charmee, sisters, newtex and.. uh.. anu pa ba? basta yon. this particular kotex costs a hundred plus. kinda steep pero super worth it. hindi sya nadudurog like the other pantiliners. durable talaga.. i'm really really impressed. :D

ang ayoko lang dito.. feeling ko kse it uses too much plastic. the resealable purse pack is a brilliant idea kse maganda nga naman sya for travel.. or to have in your purse just in case you or someone needs it. but over all.. i dunno.. i just feel bad for mother nature. maybe they can just have an actual kotext resealable pack for those who needs them that way and just the regular pack of individually wrapped pantiliners for people like me. better yet, instead of the stretchy plastic that they use to wrap them pantiliners, can't they just use paper? like imitation kraft paper so it's more environmental friendly? just a thought :D

anyway, the kotex longer and wider pantiliners is a brilliant product over all. i'm really impressed and i would recommend it to everyone.

silicone face scrub

i first saw this product in a youtube video and was really intrigued. i have been on the look out for this for quite sometime now. i looked for it sa body shop and they didn't have any.. i even went looking for it sa etude, skin food and face shop thinking they might have it. i just assumed they would kse the girl that uses it is chinese-british so i figured maybe asian brands would have them. but they didn't. i actually found this by accident. nag lalakad-lakad kse ako sa sm marikina waiting for my partner when i came across the giga store. it's in front of watson's so it's easy to spot. i like checking out eco friendly stores so i decided to look around. and there it was.. nested in a woven box made of dried coconut leaves. i just had to get it! :D

giga makes affordable natural based products but they also resell products -repackaged of course with their label. which is i think the case with the silicone face scrub. sophie martin as i later learned also has a silicone face scrub. the only difference is it's pink, it's bigger and a steeper price. 40 pesos sa giga, 120 pesos sa sophie martin. triple diba? i think the size doesn't really matter. same quality, same texture. so it doesn't matter. i guess it just depends on which is more accessible for you.

the scrub is made from silicone. after you put soap on your face, massage the scrub against your skin. it's good for everyday use because it's so soft, it won't scratch your face or leave micolacerations on your skin. the texture is really good. nakakatanggal ng dead skin cells, dirt and all that gunk on your face without damaging your skin. i think it's a good buy especially for those who like putting powder on their faces like a habit. hehe.. no offense.

[ off the topic pero isisingit ko na rin. if your face is super oily, don't keep applying powder like it's your life saver. powder clogs your pores. kung accessible naman ang washroom at hindi naman naka-make up at may oras, why not just wash your face? mas fresh sya sa pakiramdam at sa amoy promise. you can just opt for a mild facial wash so as not to dry your skin. ]

steering back to the topic.. ayon. the silicone facial scrub, i believe, is perfect even if you have sensitive skin. it also has a suction thingy in it's back so you can stick it to the mirror or on the tiles of your bathroom to hang to dry. perfect dabah?! hehe.. so there you go. silicone face scrub is a good buy. you guys should try it. :D

NEEEXT!

pantene nature care shampoo

pantene nature care conditioner

no stunts, no tricks! natural! kaya ba yan ng hair mo? lols. hehe.. i love angelica p. so apart from the promise of nature fusion, it's angelica panganiban's ad that attracted me to trying the product. hehe..

the shampoo is transparent light green, the conditioner is a very light green. the scent is very light and so is the consistency. one thing i like about the shampoo is even if you just use very little amount, it still lathers well. it doesn't weigh my hair down. also the conditioner softens my hair effectively. i like it a lot.

but i stopped using the shampoo already because like i said, i have very thin hair. i'm afraid that even if it's light as it promised, it could still be harsh on my hair so.. i went back to my baby shampoo. lols.

overall, the pantene nature care line is a great buy if you want something lightly scented and textured. : )

this is the end of the first half of the june hits. hehe.. ang dami naman kasi. i still have two more products to review but i'm tired and i have to go somewhere in a while so.. i'll just do the second half tonight ; )

see ya!

june misses

i have a feeling this will be a long, ass dragging post if i don't segregate my hits and misses for june. so eto muna.. products that didn't work FOR ME.

kojie-san skin lightening soap

i've been hearing good things about this. plus, ang hot ng gosiengfiao sisters sa advertisements ng kojie-san.. i just had to try it out.

the packaging is really neat. i love it being white, black and red. cheap too. (cheapest they can come is 50 Php as it says on the box. hehe..) this however is not my original purchase. i bought the bigger one. ewan ko kung bakit pero this kojie-san comes in 2 a pack except the other kojie-san (dream white) i think.. wala kong nakitang 2 in a pack nito ever. so anyway, the soap inside is packed in a clear plastic. sealed. i was impressed actually. maganda packaging nya. it's bright orange though.. yun naman yung mejo ayoko sa kanya. siguro kse it reminds me of those harsh papaya soap na nabibili jan sa tabi-tabi. hehe.. sama. pero seryoso.

i took a tour guide job before kse and i was exposed to so much sunlight. that was the tannest i ever got before so mejo nag panic ako. i had our helper buy me papaya soap from our neighbor.. 10 pesos lang ata yon non. and when i used it, my gehd! ang tapang nya. i had to wash it agad kasi after a few minutes it stings.. tapos yung after feeling nya sa mukha na parang banat na banat yung balat ko, i didn't like it. so i told my mom and she made me use the commercial papaya soap brands instead. i digress. hehe..

kojie-san didn't have the stinging feel. it lathers well. mejo acid-y ang amoy nya. but then again, kojic acid nga sya so that explains the scent. hehe.. ayon.

sadly though, after a few days of using the soap nagalit na yung allergy ko : ( . i have a bad allergy at the back of my arms. it usually reacts depending on the soap that i am using. for the longest time i have been using baby soap to keep it tamed pero kse.. i really wanted to try this kojie-san. i'm blaming it on aloida gosiengfiao's ad.

lols. kidding. pero you have to admit, hot diba? ; )

anyway.. needless to say, after a few days i stopped using it na. i wasn't able to see if it made any difference on my skin. : ( so kung effective ba to na whitening soap, i have no say on that. but like i said, i heard good things about this product. also, my partner liked it so i guess if you don't have skin allergies, wala naman magiging prublema. but if you have sensitive skin, you might wanna be careful using it. ayon.

NEXT!

avon foot works triple duty cream

plain packaging. but it's a foot lotion, how funky can a foot lotion's packaging go diba? hehe.. i like it though. parang sinasabi nya na "papakinisin ko ang paa mo, seryoso ko." hehe.. it smells like peppermint. light lang yung scent. i like the peppermint smell though. it reminds me of nail it is, the local nail lounge that i used to go to. anywaaaaayyy..

it's inexpensive. i think i got it for a hundred or hundred fifty.. not sure. the lotion is white. applies well. hindi sticky and it doesn't leave a greasy feeling. you just have to let it dry for a while. ayon.. okay naman sya.

hindi naman talaga miss to actually. i like it.. it does the job pero i wish it's more moisturizing.. dry kasi talaga yung sides ng paa ko e. ayon. so baka sakin lang kulang. still, it's a good buy. i would recommend it. o anu pa inaantay nyo? call your avon lady now! hehe..

LAST NA.

black beauty shampoo with conditioner

following the mane n tail reputation of thickening hair.. that's the only reason i bought this. i have thin hair kse.. runs in the family. haaaiii.. anyway, i did try mane n tail dati. wala naman difference. ang mahal pa nya. this was suggested to me by a friend. it's a cheaper option so i tried it. i decided to get the shampoo with conditioner because i thought i could get the best of both worlds in one..

sadly this is a real miss. the shampoo is a transparent green.. lathers well.. pero amoy dog soap. hehe.. nung una naisip ko, pwede naman tiisin. tska baka masapawan ng amoy ng conditioner ko.. pero hindi ako talaga comfortable sa amoy nya. wala naman ako prublema sa amoy ng dog soap. pero ayoko ng ganong amoy sa ulo ko. hindi ako sanay. hehe.. and i just feel like it's too strong for my hair.. ndi ko sya type. so after a week of using it, ayoko na. good thing i got the small bottle.. pero sana yung sachet nalang ang binili ko. ayon.. peace.

there you go. my long overdue reviews for the month of june. :D

KSA Magic Face and Body Bleaching Cream

let's talk about PEKLAT baby! lols. scars! i hate scars! i get them from mosquito bites, surot bites.. those tiny green grasshopper bites and random scratches either out of sheer clumsiness or from playing with my dog. don't you just hate it when it's summer and everybody's showing their legs and you can't cos of your piso collection? bad trip pareeeee.. ako sa totoo lang, sobrang maarte ako pag dating sa ganyan. pag may nakikita akong kahit konting bakat ng scar, hindi ako mag shoshorts. meeennn! titiisin ko ang init ng naka-pants maitago lang ang letcheng mga peklat ko. lols. exagge yon. hehe.. pero seryoso. having scars on our legs can sometimes make us feel insecure. eh pero ganon tlaga.. hindi lahat ng babae pinanganak ng maganda at makinis ang legs. same way na hindi rin lahat ng babae ay biniyayaan ng maputi at maikinis na kili-kili tulad ng kay anne curtis. but don't worry girls! there is always something for us to improve what we already have.

first of all, i'd like to say.. just because one product work for someone, it doesn't mean it will work the same for you. note that we have different skin types. so sometimes you just have to find the right product for you.

personally, i don't have sensitive skin but i am careful of the products that i use mainly because i don't want to mess up my skin. haller.. sino naman ang gustong maging polka dot ang balat diba? so as much as possible, i use mild, hypo-allergenic products. siguro ang pinaka-adventurous ko na ay ang pag try ng KSA Magic Face and Body Bleaching Cream.

(note: there is nothing wrong with the product, mind you. i'm not saying it's harsh or anything. i'm considering it a risk because i do not know anyone who uses KSA when i bought it. i also haven't read any reviews about it.)

i originally use Mosbeu. it's a great product that whitens armpits, inner thighs.. mosbeu can be bought at watson's for 900 sumthin pesos. basta hindi lalampas ng 1k. a pot lasted me for a month but i guess it could have lasted longer if i used it strictly for underarms and inner thighs. ginamit ko din kse sa scars.. out of curiosity. hehe.. effective naman. ; )

of course a thousand pesos for a month's worth of use is kinda steep. that's why i tried looking for alternates..

my first attempt is the KSA Magic Face and Body Bleaching Cream. bought it at a KSA stall in sta. lucia (grand mall). i wanted to focus on the scars i have on my legs because i am feeling OC and refuse to wear shorts until my scars are untraceable by my eyes. pwede naman kasing hindi makita ang kilikili e. lols.

a pot costs 180 Php and it lasted me for almost 2 months. note, i am using this more on my scars than my armpits. it doesn't really have a strong scent.. pero kung hindi ka sanay gumamit ng mga cream o lotion, mejo ayon.. masasanay ka rin sa amoy. hehe.. it's creamy but when it dries off, it doesn't leave a greasy feeling. i think that's one of the things i love about it. ayoko kse ng mga products na greasy ang after feel. after 2 weeks, most of my scars have lighten up. ngayon they are almost non-existent and that makes me happy. i just started my second pot.. i am hoping by july, wala na kahit bakas ng scars ko. i'll write an update on this post on july with a picture of my legs so you guys can see.. sayang walang before and after comparison.

PERO TEKA! NOTE THAT I DO NOT USE IT ON MY FACE. i am really really careful on what i put on my face and i suggest you guys be careful too. i know some people are crazy over getting a fairer skin. i don't have anything against whitening creams or lotions but if you ask me, i'd suggest you just use a whitening soap like silka, kissa or likas. kse at least ang soap, you can use it when you bathe.. you don't miss a part. tska parang ang uncomfortable kse isipin ang cream sa leeg sa gantong weather.. parang anlagkit. hehe.. but that's just my opinion. : )

so ya.. if you're not so much in a hurry to get rid of your scars (as in you've got like at least 2 months to spare), KSA Magic Face and Body Bleaching Cream is a good buy. costs you less too! ; )

what about you girls? any scar remover products or scar removing tips you can share? pag usapan nten yan.

also, this is my first attempt to review a product. i know it's not very good.. tiis muna. hehe :-P

peace!

intro

holla!

welcome to the blog ng maarteng siga! finally, my own space in the www where i can type away my reviews on products! but wait, i am not an expert. ^_^ i just really really enjoy trying out stuff..

i don't know about you guys pero ako kse talaga, i have a habit of looking up things in the internet. like when i'm curious about something, GOOGLE yan lagi sken.

"effective scar remover" = 11,200,000 results
"armpit whitening products philippines" = 489,000 results

most of which would end up useless to me. gusto ko kse na reviews may pesonal touch. yung iba naman kse they're selling a product so it makes it hard for me to trust them.. honestly, sino naman ang maninira sa sarili nyang products diba? i prefer personal reviews.. but i guess not a lot of pinays would write about their dark armpits and what they are doing para pumuti ito. ewan ko ba.. people review their gadgets to bits but hardly anyone would talk about their dark singit. hehe..

so sabi ko sa sarili ko, "pucha gagawa nga ako ng blog at mag rereview ng mga bagay-bagay..". hindi ako expert sa pag susulat.. hindi ko talent yan. i am not here to impress anyone. this is just something i really want to do.

the products i will review will be inexpensive and accessible. average tayo e. sa panahon ngayon, i don't think a lot of people will spend 5,000 Php for a small jar of moisturizer.. haller, wala pang 100 Php ang nivea. hehe..

ayon.. i hope someone out there will find this blog useful. good vibes lang tayo : )

so yaaa.. that's about it.

let's go to the hardcore stuff!

miss maarteng siga
